For as long as I can remember, books have been a source of inspiration and motivation for me. I believe that every person, especially every child, deserves the chance to experience that same feeling. Unfortunately, for many families in Africa and around the world, buying books is a luxury they cannot afford.
Studies show that children who grow up in homes without books are less likely to read at grade level, which can affect their success for years to come. I’ve seen this firsthand while growing up, and it’s something I feel we can change together.
Paradise Gate Foundation is starting this fundraising to launch a global free book giveaway to be held through the coming Yuletide into the new year and subsequently.
The event aims to foster a love of reading by providing free copies of the book (WE FOUND RARE GOLD) to members of communities, with a special focus on reaching underserved families and youths around the world. The event will help promote literacy, engage the public, and create a positive, community-oriented experience.
The funds raised will allow us print and distribute 1 million paperback book copies directly to families and children who need them most.
We plan to set up book stations at local parks, community centers, schools, colleges, etc, making it easy and fun for youths and kids to receive their very own book copy, completely free of charge. This isn’t just about handing out books; it’s about putting the power of God and literature into the hands of a new generation.
This project is a labour of love for us. We have already scouted locations for the giveaway and we have a venue to use for the event launch in Nigeria, come December. Our goal is to get the book across to people of all ages and interests, and every single cent donated will go towards publication and covering event costs.
